This course has been designed to provide the most essential Study Skills to EFL  students at Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime (AAST). This course does not teach English, but it concentrates on study problems in EFL majors by using different techniques and activities.

Program Objectives:

By the end of the program, students will be able to:

1-Take Cornell notes.

2-Outline reading texts.

3-Annotate reading texts

4-Write academic research paper.

5-Paraphrase reading texts.

6-Summarize reading texts.

7-Prepare the list of works cited.

8-Present academic oral presentation.

9-Use electronic English dictionaries (online and offline).

10- Write electronic formal email.

There are also introductory meetings outlining the content of the program and explaining the meaning of Study Skills and Flipped mode of study. The program with 2 hours of  class per week during a 13 week including a pre/post-test.

Students should find a time each week to engage in online course materials on Moodle (at times that are convenient to them) as there are different rewarding activities.

- There are no required textbooks for this course.

-All assignments are answered and graded in the class-time.

-Students must be familiar with using a computer for purposes such as using Moodle, sending email, creating PowerPoint slides,  and searching the internet. So, they need regular access to the Internet through using computer or mobile
